CLEVELAND SHETLAND SHEEPDOG CLUB AKC LICENSED HERDING TESTS AND TRIALS

Notice to Exhibitors

ENTRY FEE for the AKC Test/Trial is $60.00/run for Sheep; $60.00/run for Ducks. Course D runs are $75.
(Please circle correct amount on entry form.)
ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT FEES.

ENTRIES OPEN Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.. Entries received before April 8will be returned.
ENTRIES CLOSE at the Herding Test/Trial Secretary’s office Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at
6:00 PM or when numerical limits are reached if prior to that date, after which time entries
cannot be accepted, canceled, altered or substituted.

ENTRY FORMS MUST BE SIGNED by the owner or the owner’s duly authorized agent,
otherwise entry cannot be accepted.
MAKE CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS payable to the Cleveland Shetland Sheepdog Club. All fees are payable in U.S. Funds, drawn on a U.S. bank.
RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry. A collection fee of $30.00 will be added to each returned check.

ERRORS ON ENTRY FORMS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms
(whoever may make such errors) and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or
cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Please type or print clearly and carefully the information on entry forms to eliminate errors.

DECLINATION OF ENTRIES: Cleveland Shetland Sheepdog Club (CSSC) may decline any
entries and may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness, or other cause and no one shall have any claim against CSSC or any official thereof.

ENTRY FEES SHALL NOT BE REFUNDED in the event a dog is not allowed to compete in the entered class, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Show Committee or if because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the
control of the management it is impossible to open or complete the Test/Trial. A refund will be given, less a $5.00 fee, if the Secretary is notified prior to the trial start and an alternate takes
that run. No alternate, no refund.

BITCHES IN SEASON will run in catalog order in all trial classes, but will be placed at the end of the running order in all test classes.

ALL DOGS PRESENT MUST BE HELD ON LEASH or otherwise restricted except when
competing. Under no circumstances will dogs be allowed to disturb the resting stock or interfere outside the arena with another dog’s performance in the arena. See Chapter 1, Section 20 of the AKC Herding Regulations.

YOU MUST CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS.

EXPRESS MAIL ENTRIES – If you send your entries via some type of overnight service, you
MUST waive recipient signature with some carriers, otherwise the delivery person will not leave the envelope which can cause a delay in the secretary receiving your entries.

Food

Lunch will be offered carryout box style by North East Ohio Sheltie Rescue.
Donations for the rescue will be accepted for the lunch.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 AM onward.
Lunch will be taken at the discretion of the judges.
All lunches will be consumed outside.
Bring your own refreshments (drinks, snacks, etc.)

Trials

TRIALS on Course “A” Sheep & “D” Sheep & Course “A & B” ducks. B outrun for ducks is the minimum.
PT boundary available with 6 sheep. “D” runs with groups of 10 sheep will be available with optional
obstacles of free standing pen, chute and extra obstacles as allowed.
