Sheltie Rescue – NEOSSR

Northeast Ohio Shetland Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit network of individuals concerned with the welfare of Shelties.  It is not a shelter.  We are dedicated to providing an alternative to dogs in Northeast Ohio who have been abandoned, abused, or given up by their owners.
Our mission is to provide medical care, rehabilitation, and to locate permanent new homes for these dogs.  We also advocate and provide assistance to families who are experiencing difficulties with their Sheltie, through education on the care and needs of the breed, in order to prevent the need for rescue of these animals.

The American Shetland Sheepdog Association

The American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) was founded in 1929 at the Westminster Kennel Club show. The club’s first specialty was held in 1933. Much has changed since the early days of the club, but ASSA remains committed to protecting and advancing the interests of the breed.

American Kennel Club

The American Kennel Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. Founded in 1884, the AKC® and its affiliated organizations advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership.
